Under the director of the Executive Director, the Advocate will be responsible for a variety of duties in providing service to ASAP clients.
The successful candidate will assist in fostering non-judgmental direct services to vulnerable individuals while working in a supportive work environment with the ASAP team.
- Post-secondary in a relevant field - Minimum 6 months experience with a non-profit organization - Bondable and pass a criminal record check
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working with vulnerable populations in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner - Excellent and proven written and oral communication skills including interview skills - Proven ability to maintain a professional and constructive relationship with Government and community agencies - Excellent and proven organizational skills - Creative problem solving ability - Proven ability to negotiate and deal appropriately with conflict - Ability to be self-directed and motivated - Ability to understand, interpret and apply legislation and policy - Understanding of resources available in community and region
