General Manager Administration
Saik'uz First Nation is seeking a confident and energetic General Manager to provide collaborative leadership to Saik'uz First Nation. The General Manager will oversee the operations of the Saik'uz First Nation government. This is a full time three-year contract. The successful candidate will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.
As part of the team, you will:
- Oversee and ensure efficient administration of the Saik'uz First Nation affairs, programs and service delivery to community members; - Administer the required staffing and professional development of staff necessary for prompt and efficient operation of day-to-day business; - Administer, monitor and evaluate the finances of the Saik'uz First Nation; - Act as a liaison and maintain relationships with external agencies; - Advise Council and Committees on matters under their control and direction;
- Oversee the development, implementation and ensure compliance of policies and procedures; - Prepare agenda, information and resources for Chief and Council meetings and where appropriate for Band and community meetings; - Ensure consistent, effective reporting occurs with in Saik'uz and to all external agencies/ministries/ partners.
Also, performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Saik'uz First Nation policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree (or 2 year business diploma with 5 years proven management experience) in business, management or relevant field combined with strong financial acumen - Broad knowledge of First Nation governance, proposal writing, finance, infrastructure, planning and development and capital project management - Strong leadership skills to lead, develop, empower and inspire a core team of senior management staff
