The Position
Squamish Terminals
is accepting applications to fill a full-time Maintenance Superintendent position. The Maintenance Superintendent is a key member of the management team and is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance department. This will include planning, organizing, assigning, implementing and monitoring all maintenance functions to maintain quality standards, protect site assets, improve operational efficiency, control operating costs and ensure a safe work environment.
The Successful Candidate
- will have a minimum 3 years experience in related managerial role and possess a mechanical maintenance background with solid academic credentials, such as B.C. Trades Qualification Certificate (B.C.T.Q.); - will require a strong aptitude for budgeting, cost control, preventative maintenance programs and have superior mechanical ability and an understanding of materials handling equipment; - must possess strong leadership and motivational skills; be comfortable managing in a heavy industrial unionized environment; have a strong awareness of and demonstrate proficiency in safe work practices; - demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and have the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with workforce, management and suppliers; and - knowledge of dry fire systems, a superior understanding of hydraulics, heavy duty mechanics, and purchasing and inventory control is considered an asset.
